SGI Urges Drivers To Drive Safely This Summer

While it’s technically not the long weekend this week, SGI still anticipates many will hit the roads and travel around the province.

SGI Spokesman Tyler McMurchy says if people can eliminate 4 bad driving habits, they will greatly reduce the risk of getting involved in a collision.

Distracted driving, impaired driving, driving at excessive speed, and not doing up a seatbelt.

SGI also reminds everyone to drive safely this summer, and McMurchy says especially in construction zones where the speed limit is 60 km/h.

McMurchy says if someone drives 100 in a 60 zone, they can face a fine of more than one-thousand dollars.
