COVID-19 vaccine intake for Yorkton and surrounding area has slightly increased over the past week.

SHA Local Medical Health Officer Dr. Ashok Chhetri says about 68 percent have had their first dose while 42 percent is fully-immunized as of this week.

It’s a small bump from about 66 percent of people receiving a first dose and about 31 percent fully-vaccinated from the previous week.

For youth between the ages of 12 and 17, Dr. Chhetri says 47 percent have had one dose, while 3 percent is fully-vaccinated.

For people between 18-and-29-years-old in the Yorkton area, Chhetri says about 48 percent received their first dose and 14 percent had their second dose.
