Solutions Are Being Sought To A Water Shortage At Melville’s Golf Course

The City of Melville is working with the Melville Golf and Country Club on finding a long-term solution for having a supply of water for irrigating the Golf Course. Melville City Council is not releasing water from the Reservoir due to potential negative environmental consequences and only being at 57 percent capacity. In the meantime, water is being hauled to the Golf Course, which will be cost-shared 50-50 between the City and Golf Course until the end of this season.
