A collision between a train and a semi with a trailer happened near Springside this afternoon (Thurs).
Fire Chief for the Springside Fire Department David Sutter says his crew got the call at about 12:30.
“Fortunately there wasn’t any major injuries,” Sutter said. “We have to get the crane in and back hoe in to try to separate the trailer from the train engine.”
Sutter says the good news is the train had empty cars and was able to stop quickly.
The driver of the semi was the only occupant in the vehicle, and was taken to the hospital for observation.
