Saskatchewan reports 372 new cases, 336 recoveries and 5 deaths

Saskatchewan recorded 372 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the provincial total to 62,989.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (9), Far North Central (3), Far North East (41), North West (42), North Central (46), North East (11), Saskatoon (50), Central West (13), Central East (17), Regina (49), South West (14), South Central (14) and South East (18) zones and forty-five (45) new cases have pending residence information.
Twenty (20) cases with pending residence information were reassigned to Far North West (from September 18 (1), September 19 (1)), North West (from September 16 (1), September 19 (3)), North East (from September 19 (2)), Central East (from September 18 (1)), Saskatoon (from September 18 (2)), South Central (from September 19 (9)) zones.
Three (3) cases were removed; one (1) was removed from the North West zone from September 19, and two (2) cases were determined to be non-SK residents and removed from cases pending residence information from August 27 and August 29.

There were 5 more deaths due to COVID-19: 1 each in the Far North West, North Central and Central East regions and 2 in the South West region, increasing the provincial total to 646.
As of today (Tues), a total of 262 individuals are in hospital – 208 receiving inpatient care and 54 in ICU – 336 recoveries were recorded, bringing that total to 57,643, and active cases rose by 28 to 4,700; the Central East region has 217 active cases.
The seven day average of daily new cases went down by 20 to 474 (or 39.4 new cases per 100,000).
The provincial dashboard also reported 3,741 COVID-19 tests were done, bringing the total to 1,098,415.
An additional 840 vaccines doses were administered – 420 first doses and 420 second doses – down from yesterday’s (Mon) 2,623 new doses reported.
Province’s COVID-19 summary over the last seven days
  • From September 15 – 21, 20,164 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,523,549.
  • As of September 21, 79 per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 71 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
  • There were 3,320 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan from September 15 – 21, bringing the provincial total to 62,989 cases.  Two thousand five hundred and twenty-six recoveries were recorded during the same period.
  • The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan is currently 474 (39.4 per 100,000).
  • Nineteen new deaths were reported September 15-21.
  • The province no longer tests for variant type on new cases using SNP.  The Delta variant has become the dominant variant in the province of Saskatchewan.  Whole genome sequencing will continue to identify any emerging variants. There were 88 new lineage results reported for September 15-21.
  • As of September 21, there are 262 people in hospital: 208 are receiving inpatient care and 54 are in intensive care.  One hundred and ninety-three of the people in hospital (74 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
  • From September 15 – 21, there were 28,071 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.
