Saskatchewan Identified 460 New Cases Of COVID-19, 444 Recoveries, 7 Deaths

  • As of September 23rd, there are 460 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 63,875 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (8), Far North Central (5), Far North East (10), North West (53), North Central (36), North East (8), Saskatoon (123), Central West (6), Central East (28), Regina (59), South West (38), South Central (18), South East (47) zones and twenty one (21) new cases have pending residence information.
  • Thirteen (13) cases with pending residence information were reassigned to the Far North West (from September 20 (1)), Far North East (from September 18 (1), September 21 (1)), North West (from September 5 (1), September 21 (1)), North Central (from September 16 (1)), Saskatoon (from September 20 (2), September 21 (1)), South West (from September 21 (1)), and South Central (from September 16 (1), September 19 (2)) zones.

  • 63,875 cases are confirmed
    • 15,420 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 15,325 cases are from the North area (6,468 North West, 6,494 North Central, 2,363 North East)
    • 13,227 cases are from the Regina area
    • 7,873 cases are from the Far North area (3,663 Far North West, 530 Far North Central, 3,680 Far North East)
    • 7,389 cases are from the South area (1,557 South West, 2,330 South Central, 3,502 South East)
    • 4,157 cases are from the Central area (1,149 Central West, 3,008 Central East)
    • 484 cases have pending residence information
  • 4,715 cases are considered active and 58,502 cases are considered recovered.
  • Over one-third (35.9%) of new cases are in the age category of 19 and under.
  • One in six (16.3%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
  • As of September 23rd, a total of 273 individuals are hospitalized; including 215 inpatient hospitalizations and 58 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 273 patients, 207 (75.8%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • Seven (7) new deaths reported today. 658 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.0%
  • 1,105,848 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of September 21st, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 930,750 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,117,244 tests performed per million population.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 470 (39.0 new cases per 100,000).
