Saskatchewan Reports 246 New Cases Of COVID-19, 500 Recoveries, 5 Deaths

  • As of October 20th, there are 246 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 75,185 reported cases
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (4), Far North East (4), North West (37), North Central (26), North East (1), Saskatoon (63), Central West (12), Central East (18), Regina (36), South West (4), South Central (2) and South East (25) zones and 14 new cases have pending residence information
  • 30 cases with pending residence information were assigned to Far North West (from October 1 (1)), Far North East (from October 5 (2)), North West (from October 11 (1), October 14 (2), October 15 (1), October 18 (6)), North Central (from October 18 (8)), Central East (from October 18 (1)), Regina (from October 5 (1), October 11 (1), October 12 (1), October 16 (2), October 18 (2)), and South West (from October 18 (1)) zones
  • One (1) case was removed (unknown reason) from South East (from September 24 2021)

  • 75,185 cases are confirmed
    • 18,448 cases are from the North area (8,185 North West, 7,552 North Central, 2,711 North East)
    • 18,116 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 14,821 cases are from the Regina area
    • 9,086 cases are from the South area (2,048 South West, 2,762 South Central, 4,276 South East)
    • 8,906 cases are from the Far North area (4,165 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,200 Far North East)
    • 5,182 cases are from the Central area (1,364 Central West, 3,818 Central East)
    • 626 cases have pending residence information
  • 3,174 cases are considered active and 71,213 cases are considered recovered
  • Almost one-third (30.9%) of new cases are in the age category of 11 and under
  • Almost one-third (31.2%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
  • As of October 20th, a total of 323 individuals are hospitalized, including 241 inpatient hospitalizations and 82 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 323 patients, 238 (73.7%) were not fully vaccinated. Two (2) additional patients have been transferred to Ontario, for a total of three (3) SK cases who have been transferred out-of-province. As they are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in dashboard.
  • Five (5) new deaths reported today. 798 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
  • 1,199,438 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of October 18th, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,011,438 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,189,647 tests performed per million population.
  • As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 307 (25.5 new cases per 100,000).
