- 8,934 cases are from the Far North area (4,179 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,214 Far North East)
- 5,223 cases are from the Central area (1,369 Central West, 3,854 Central East)
- 628 cases have pending residence information
- 3,104 cases are considered active and 71,636 cases are considered recovered
- More than one-quarter (28.5%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
- Just over one-third (34.0%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
- As of October 21st, a total of 322 individuals are hospitalized, including 246 inpatient hospitalizations and 76 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 322 patients, 236 (73.3%) were not fully vaccinated. Three (3) additional patients have been transferred to Ontario, for a total of six (6) SK cases who have been transferred out-of-province. As they are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in dashboard.
- Two (2) new deaths reported today. 800 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
- 1,202,679 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of October 19, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,013,439 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,191,703 tests performed per million population.
- As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 313 (26.0 new cases per 100,000).
