New court date made for a man charged after allegedly escaping Esterhazy RCMP custody

Another court appearance has been made by a man accused of escaping police custody.

Esterhazy RCMP say 27-year-old Jason Mitton bolted from the Esterhazy hospital July 13th, but was eventually located several kilometres east of the town.

Mitton faces numerous charges, including Assault, Assaulting a Peace Officer, and Attempting to Escape Lawful Custody.

He remains in custody for his next court date in Yorkton on Monday.
