A major announcement was made in Ottawa today by Public Services and Procurement Minister Filomena Tassi.

The Canadian government signed an agreement with Pfizer to obtain 1-million courses of their oral anti-viral treatment for COVID-19, plus an additional 500-thousand courses from Merck.

The drugs would treat symptoms of COVID-19, and allow Canadians to take it at home, rather than at the hospital.

However, the drugs would first need to be approved by Health Canada, before they can be delivered to the country.
