Saskatchewan Identified 55 New Cases Of COVID-19, 48 Recoveries, No Deaths

  • As of December 16th, there are 55 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 82,015 reported cases.
  • The new cases are located in the North West (3), North Central (2), Saskatoon (21), Central West (1), Central East (7), Regina (17), South East (1) and three (3) new cases have pending residence information.
  • Two (2) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central (from December 14 (1)), Regina (from December (9)) zones.
  • One (1) case was removed from Central East from December 10, 2021.

  • 82,015 cases are confirmed
    • 19,967 cases are from the North area (8,866 North West, 8,255 North Central, 2,846 North East)
    • 19,558 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 16,021 cases are from the Regina area
    • 10,340 cases are from the South area (2,201 South West, 3,012 South Central, 5,127 South East)
    • 9,389 cases are from the Far North area (4,412 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,436 Far North East
    • 6,192 cases are from the Central area (1,447 Central West, 4,745 Central East)
    • 548 cases have pending residence information
  • 544 cases are considered active and 80,530 cases are considered recovered.
  • More than one-third (36.4%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39.
  • Almost one-half (46.0%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 5 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
  • As of December 16th, a total of 106 individuals are hospitalized, including inpatient hospitalizations and 35 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 106 patients, 66 (62.3%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • In addition to SK ICUs, there is no (0) resident in an out-of-province ICUs.
  • No (0) new deaths reported today. 941 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
  • 1,305,064 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of December 14th, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,102,334 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,316,845 tests performed per million.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 55 (4.5 new cases per 100,000).
