Driven by the omicron variant, Canada’s COVID-19 case count has jumped 65% compared to the previous week.Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam says that translates to almost 42 thousand new cases per day, adding current case counts are 400% higher than the peak of the 3rd wave. Meantime, Federal health minister Jean-Yves Duclos says Canadians continue rolling up their sleeves and getting their COVID jab. 77% have been fully vaccinated, and he adds there will be enough doses to have kids aged 5 to 11 fully vaccinated by the end of this month.
