Saskatchewan Reports 1,027 New Cases Of COVID-19, 661 Recoveries, No Deaths

  • As of January 11th, there are 1,027 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 94,080 reported cases
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (13), Far North East (9), North West (36), North Central (39), North East (15), Saskatoon (378), Central West (15), Central East (71), Regina (224), South West (18), South Central (49) and South East (35) zones and 125 new cases have pending residence information
  • Fifteen cases were assigned to the North West (7), North Central (1), Saskatoon (3), Central West (2), and Regina (2) zones.
  • 113 SK residents tested positive out-of-province were added to the case counts in various zones.

  • 94,080 cases are confirmed
    • 23,384 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 20,996 cases are from the North area (9,244 North West, 8,692 North Central, 3,060 North East)
    • 19,254 cases are from the Regina area
    • 12,180 cases are from the South area (2,515 South West, 3,605 South Central, 6,060 South East)
    • 9,592 cases are from the Far North area (4,527 Far North West, 543 Far North Central, 4,522 Far North East)
    • 7,326 cases are from the Central area (1,694 Central West, 5,632 Central East)
    • 1,348 cases have pending residence information
  • 8,229 cases are considered active and 84,890 cases are considered recovered
  • Nearly one-half (45.8%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
  • As of January 11th, a total of 121 individuals are hospitalized, including 110 inpatient hospitalizations and 11 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 121 patients, 54 (44.6%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 121 hospitalizations: 110 residents are inpatient: of those, 57 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 44 are incidental, asymptomatic infections and nine (9) have not yet been determined. 11 residents are in ICUs: of those, 10 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, one (1) is incidental, asymptomatic infections.
  • No (0) new deaths reported today. 961 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.0.
  • 1,363,519 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of January 9, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,145,548 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,410,457 tests performed per million population.
  • As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 980 (81.3 new cases per 100,000).
