Erin O’Toole Voted Out As Leader Of The Federal Conservative Party

The Federal Conservative Party is looking for a new leader.
After a secret ballot vote this morning by Conservative MPs, Erin O’Toole has been ousted as leader, just after 17 months of being at the helm and after one failed election.
It is unknown how many MPs voted against O’Toole, but a simple majority of the party’s MPs was needed to launch the party’s third leadership contest in six years.
The vote was forced by 35 MPs unhappy with O’Toole’s leadership after last year’s disappointing election results.
