Saskatchewan Reports 770 New Cases Of COVID-19, 1,057 Recoveries, 4 Deaths

  • As of February 4th, there are 770 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 121,516 reported cases
  • The new cases are located in the Far North West (26), Far North East (23), North West (53), North Central (87), North East (26), Saskatoon (139), Central West (13), Central East (32), Regina (122), South West (19), South Central (80), and South East (55) zones and 95 new cases have pending residence information
  • 140 cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (2), Far North East (1), North West (47), North Central (24), North East (1), Saskatoon (17), Central West (2), Central East (5), Regina (26), South West (3), South Central (8), and South East (4) zones. Details of reassignments are included in a one time table included at the end of the report
  • Three (3) SK residents tested out-of-province were added to the Saskatoon (from January 27 (1)), Central East (from February 1 (1)), and South West (from February 1 (1)) zones
  • Two (2) cases (repeated tests) were removed from North Central (from January 10 (1)), and Saskatoon (from February 2 (1)) zones

  • 121,516 cases are confirmed
    • 31,606 cases are from the Saskatoon area
    • 25,844 cases are from the Regina area
    • 25,722 cases are from the North area (11,141 North West, 10,862 North Central, 3,719 North East)
    • 10,577 cases are from the Far North area (4,969 Far North West, 600 Far North Central, 5,008 Far North East)
    • 16,302 cases are from the South area (3,342 South West, 4,949 South Central, 8,011 South East)
    • 9,896 cases are from the Central area (2,294 Central West, 7,602 Central East)
    • 1,569 cases have pending residence information
  • 9,981 cases are considered active and 110,530 cases are considered recovered
  • Just over one-third (35.2%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
  • As of February 4th, a total of 363 individuals are hospitalized, including 329 inpatient hospitalizations and 34 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 363 patients, 139 (38.3%) were not fully vaccinated.
  • The SHA dashboard includes 363 hospitalizations:
    • 329 residents are inpatient: of those, 133 inpatient hospitalizations are a COVID-19-related illness, 179 are incidental COVID-19 infections, and 17 have not yet been determined.
    • 33 residents are in ICUs: of those, 23 are for COVID-19-related illnesses, and 10 are for incidental COVID-19 infections. One (1) resident is in PICU/NICU for COVID-19-related illnesses.
  • Four (4) new deaths reported today. A total of 1,005 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 0.8%.
  • 1,448,157 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of February 2, 2022, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,220,170 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,482,779 tests performed per million.
  • The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 867 (72.0 new cases per 100,000).
