MP For Yorkton-Melville Condemns Approval Of The Emergencies Act

Last night, the House of Commons passed the use of the Emergencies Act by a vote of 185 in favour and 151 opposed.

Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois MPs voted against the motion, while the NDP supported the governing Liberals.

Yorkton-Melville MP Cathay Wagantall states she had no hesitation in voting against the motion, calling it a huge overreach by the Liberal government.

Conservative interim leader Candice Bergen vowed to introduce a motion at the earliest opportunity to contest the use of the Emergencies Act, and debate the possible extension of the Act.
