Saskpower is pausing their mass deployment of smart meters due to a shortage of computer chips which the crown says is part of ongoing global supply chain issues. The provincial power company’s Joel Cherry says that farm customers were among the first to receive notice that they would be getting new meters in the spring of 2022, a time frame that has now been extended.
