Yorkton Council Meets

Non-residential properties in Yorkton will begin paying for a base tax to help cover protective services costs. Finance Director Ashley Stradeski notes that those properties will pay a base tax of 250-dollars this year, with it eventually being increased to 830-dollars, just like residential properties.
Meantime, the city of Yorkton is putting forward an application for funding through the Investing in Canadian Infrastructure Program. The funding will go towards the city’s arena improvement project and if accepted, the federal government will cover up to 40% of the project’s cost, while the provincial government would cover one-third of the costs.
