A $13 million upgrade and expansion of the Sewage Treatment Facility and a Vertical landfill expansions are two projects that GME Inc. have been approved for as general contractor in the City of Melville. This sewage treatment facility upgrade and expansion project will accommodate future growth by increasing capacity for growth and climate change and improving the quality of the treatment to the national standard. The vertical landfill expansion allow all operations to continue at the City of Melville’s Waste Disposal Ground.
Meantime, Council also announced this Friday, which is Earth Day, will be Free Tipping is day at the landfill for residents and community groups who want to volunteer picking up trash in open or public spaces.
