New court date set for Swan River man facing drug and weapon charges

A new court date has been set for a Swan River man, who was arrested in Winnipeg last week, on warrants in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

On May 6th, RCMP say they located about 27 grams of methamphetamine, a weapon, and drug-related paraphernalia in the possession of 31-year-old Matthew Barker.

A subsequent search of a hotel room netted officers several loaded handguns.

Barker, who is also facing charges from a stolen vehicle incident in Saskatchewan, remains in custody, for his next appearance in Winnipeg, on June 10th.
