Yorkton woman charged in connection with a report of a possible impaired driver

A 37-year-old Yorkton woman is facing a total of 13 charges in connection with a report of a possible impaired driver on Tupper Avenue in the City last Monday (6th).

Yorkton RCMP officers located the vehicle, but the driver allegedly reversed, hit a police vehicle, and drove off in an erratic manner, nearly hitting several officers.

RCMP say shortly after the vehicle was disabled and no longer drivable, the driver was arrested, and further investigation determined the vehicle was reported stolen from Kamsack earlier that day.

Charges Dezaray Quewezance is facing includes one count each of flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operation while prohibited, failure to stop after an accident, operation while impaired and operation over .08; 4 counts of assault on a police officer; and 2 counts of mischief over $5,000.

Quewezance was scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court today (Mon).
