Yorkton’s Kozak qualifies for U.S Junior Women’s Golf Championship

For only the 2nd time ever and first time since 2012, a Saskatchewan golfer will compete in the U.S Junior Women’s Golf Championships.

Yorkton’s Ella Kozak won a qualifier in Jamestown, North Dakota on Monday after shooting a 2-over, 74, three strokes better than Rylee Heryford and Rose Solberg.

“It was kind of a shocker, it took a while for it to hit me that I might have won it and qualified,” Kozak said. “It’s still kind of settling in, it’s definitely something I’ve never felt before.”

She’ll now compete in the event which will be held at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Kentucky from July 18 to 23.
