Parkland College received a $440-thousand grant towards its applied research in agriculture program, in partnership with the Keeseekoose First Nation. Dr. Gwen Machnee is the coordinator of applied research for Parkland College. She says the grant will help with the development of a “Smart Farm” at Keeseekoose – where Parkland would assist in training and research, while Keeseekoose would begin farming some of their own land.
