The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority has announced approximately 2.2 million dollars in charitable gaming grants to support almost one-thousand groups, organizations and teams across the province, including many within our listening area. Just under $217,500 dollars in grant money is being distributed in Yorkton and the surrounding area, including more than $123,650 to groups within the city itself, with the largest grant, $100,000, going to the Kinsmen Club of Yorkton. The money for these grants, which are made quarterly, are based on 25 per cent of the net proceeds of activities licenced by the SLGA, including raffles, bingos, breakopen tickets, Texas Hold ‘Em and Monte Carlo events.
