A State Of Emergency On A Northern Sask. First Nation

The northern First Nation of Buffalo River Dene Nation has reissued its state of emergency following incidents of gang violence against its Elders and the rise of crystal meth in the community. FSIN Vice Chief Heather Bear says there is no addictions or mental health support, even though it has been requested many times, and is asking senior levels of government for help. Buffalo River Dene Nation Chief Norma Catarat says in the short term, they need at least 20 additional security guards, along with self-defence courses.
