The Sask Party government officially announced that they are exiting the retail liquor business, throwing 400 people out of work. Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming minister Lori Carr says the decision was made because revenue has declined 95 per cent over the last four years, and closures will start in January. Roughly 100 people gathered at the legislative building protesting the move to close the stores. Saskatchewan Federation of Labour president Lori Johb, along with other speakers, said that Moe should be focusing on providing funding for industries like healthcare and education.
