Yorkton City Council Advances 2025 Budget for Public Review

During last night’s meeting, Yorkton City Council placed a strong focus on the city’s 2025 Capital and Operating Budgets, unanimously approving them for public release.

The proposed budget outlines key financial priorities for the upcoming year and invites residents to provide feedback before the next vote.

One of the main changes in the budget is an increase in the Capital Budget from 1.0% to 1.84%, reflecting a focus on infrastructure and development.

Meanwhile, the Operating Budget remains steady at 2.06%.

The plan also includes the addition of three new city positions: a Communications Coordinator to enhance public engagement, an Accountant in Finance to support financial management, and a part-time Bylaw Enforcement Officer to assist with local regulations.

Yorkton residents can review the proposed budget at yorkton.ca and share their thoughts before the final vote on March 3rd.
