Duguay’s Game 7 OT winner helps Mustangs earn berth into SJHL Final

BRONCOS 3, MUSTANGS 4 (OT)

Ryan Duguay’s powerplay goal just 2:55 into overtime led the Melfort Mustangs to a 4-3 win over the Humboldt Broncos on Tuesday night in Game 7 of their SJHL Semi-Final.

The Mustangs forced the extra period after Aidyn Hutchinson scored the tying goal just under 2 minutes remaining in regulation.

Chase Friedt-Mohr led the way for Melfort with 2G 1A while Danton Cox also scored & Clay Sleeva chipped in with 4 helpers.

Broncos forward Spencer Bell had 2 more goals to lead Humboldt who got a single from Jacob Strizzi.

The Mustangs will head to Flin Flon for Game 1 and 2 on Friday & Saturday of the SJHL Canterra Seeds Cup before the series shifts back to Melfort for Games 3 & 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
