Sask Ag Today Roundtable Episode 32 – April 26, 2024

The Competition Bureau’s report on the proposed Bunge-Viterra merger made the rounds in the ag news cycle, and it did on the latest SaskAgToday.com Roundtable. Chief Agricultural Editor of SaskAgToday.com Kevin Hursh, 620 CKRM AgriNews Director Ryan Young, and GX94 Agriculture Director Doug Falconer cover a joint statement released by both companies this week, saying some of the concerns identified by the Bureau are “misplaced” and will provide information to address those concerns to the Bureau and Transport Canada. The guys also talked about seeding — some farmers in the southwest, south, and even a few in the Parkland Region are out in the field. Other topics include FCC’s AgriSpirit Fund accepting applications from registered charities, First Nation communities, and non-profit groups; canola and wheat futures were up this week; and the appointment of David Hunt as Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission.
