Melville Public Works Department Getting Two New Tandem Trucks

The City of Melville will be getting two new tandem trucks for its Public Works Department.
A request for proposals was sent out and of 5 companies sending 11 different proposals, Warner Industries from Regina met the Rail City’s needs the most.
The trucks will replace one tandem truck and two, three ton trucks currently in the fleet.
They will be used year-round hauling snow, gravel, dirt, among other things.

The city had budgeted $320-thousand for the purchase of the new trucks, but went over by about $2-thousand, due to council deciding to add a trailer tow package and asphalt tarp attachments to both vehicles.
