Revision made to Melville’s Commercial Tax Incentive Policy

Melville City Council has revised its Commercial/Industrial Tax lncentive Policy.
The Tax Incentive Policy is designed to attract new business and encourage existing ones to expand in Melville with tax exemptions.
The revision is new businesses that apply for an incentive must do so within one year of starting operations.
The tweak was made because prior there was no timeline for when new businesses could apply for a tax exemption.
There was one instance when a business bought property in 2010, and after renovations, started operating in 2017 then applied for the incentive.
