One Lane of Highway 16 Open, Semi Driver Killed in Collision with Train West of Foam Lake

RCMP remain at the scene of a collision between a semi and a train 3 miles west of Foam Lake.
One lane is open on Highway 16 and Mounties will be helping drivers through the area until both lanes re-open.
The collision was reported around 10:40 a.m. yesterday (Fri) on a grid road that intersects the CP Rail Line just off the Highway.
RCMP say a southbound semi hauling non-hazardous goods was hit by an eastbound train transporting empty cars to Winnipeg, killing the 65-year-old male semi driver from the Maidstone area.
The train didn’t derail and none of the train crew members were hurt.
