An RCMP officer in the remote northern Saskatchewan community of Wollaston Lake has been charged with assault.

Corporal Luay Toma was off-duty at the time of the alleged incident at a home there May 20th, and was arrested May 30th.

He’s now the subject of an internal RCMP probe, and was suspended with pay.

Toma is due in Wollaston Lake Court July 10th.
