Estevan Woman Convicted of Drug Trafficking

The trial for a woman charged in connection with a 2017 drug bust in the Estevan area has wrapped up.
52-year-old Marion Ellson was charged with drug and firearm offences, after a substance seized back in December of 2017, was found to contain carfentanil – a derivative of fentanyl, but one-hundred times more powerful.
The two-week jury trial ended Friday (21st), with Ellson being found guilty of Possession of both Carfentanil and Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, as well as Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
She remains in custody, with sentencing set for August 6th, in Estevan Court of Queen’s Bench.
