For the first time ever, a team from Saskatchewan will be competing on the Amazing Race Canada.

The 7th season of the show kicks-off tonight (tues) and Regina’s Lauren and Joanne Lavoie, ages 27 and 21 will be taking part in the cross-country adventure.

The two have already been in the spot light before. The two sisters had a video go viral on the internet of Joanne choking on a spoon.

Lauren says they’ve experienced people coming up to them and saying hi in the past, although she expects it will be a different demographic that will be saying hi to them at the grocery store once they appear on the Amazing Race Canada.

The Regina duo say they’re excited for anything that may take place in the water or any puzzle challenges that may come up.

Lauren and Joanne will go head-to-head against 6 other teams from Ontario, B.C., Quebec, Alberta and Nova Scotia.

The 7th season gets underway tonight (tues) at 7 on CTV.
