A shake-up in Canora, as Gina Rakochy has resigned as Mayor, effective June 30th. With the next civic election not until next fall, a by-election will be held to fill the spot, with the earliest possible date August 28th. Sheldon Derkatch is currently the deputy mayor.  As well, council also announced the retirement of their senior public works operator, David Wasyliw, effective July 31st.
