SaskEnergy Reports $60-Million Dividend, No Commodity Rate Increases for Next Two Years

SaskEnergy released its figures from the 2018-2019 fiscal year earlier today (Thursday).

The Crown corporation announced that commodity rates are at their lowest in 20 years and that there be no increases coming soon.

Although Minister for SaskEnergy Bronwyn Eyre says with the carbon tax, there will still be an increase for residential homeowners.

The freezing of commodity rate changes is in place for the next two years in Saskatchewan.

The bottom line showed a $60 million dollar dividend which is 31 million more than it was two years ago and 21 million more than last year.

It is because of results like this that the NDP says shows Crowns should not be sold.

Critic Danielle Chartier says with the track record of the Sask. Party selling off Crowns, it leaves them concerned for their future.
