Sask. Has A New Lt. Governor

Saskatchewan’s newest Lt. Governor has been named by the Prime Minister’s office. Russell Mirasty, a member of the Lac La Ronge First Nation and former Mountie, will replace Thomas Molloy, who passed away earlier this month after battling cancer. Mirasty served 36 years with the RCMP, and was posted in 7 provinces. While posted in Saskatchewan, he volunteered his time as an Aide de Camp to the province’s Lieutenant Governor. He retired from the RCMP as Assistant Commissioner in 2013.
