New Water Treatment Plant in Melville 80 Percent Complete: SaskWater Spokesperson

The construction of Melville’s new Water Treatment Plant is going well.
Vice-President of Operations and Engineering with SaskWater Eric Light says the plant is 80% complete.
“What they’re planning on working on in the next little while is continuing to work on the process piping inside the building…electrical work,” Light explained while also highlighting utility connections, interior finishes and supplying a back up generator as other work that needs to be done.
He says they are still on track to have the facility commissioned and complete by this December and operational by early 2020.
Once completed the new facility will improve the quality of water via reverse osmosis.
“We’re confident in that type of treatment will have excellent quality water that will come out of this plant.” Light said.
