Canadian Armed Forces Assisting RCMP in Ongoing Search for B.C. Murder Suspects

Manitoba RCMP have updated the status of their search for Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod, the teenage suspects in 3 B.C. murders.
Corporal Julie Courchaine says they continue searching near York Landing, adding the Canadian Forces are helping.
“Today they are going to be there with their plane to assist in the search,” she said. “We’re trying to get as many resources that we have available to us there so we can identify who these individuals are.”
The search has targeted York Landing, after RCMP got a tip the 2 were there, but Mounties tweeted earlier this afternoon they have not been able to verify the tip.
Courchaine also says there have been issues with false information.
“Some of the misinformation being spread over social media does create issues, and so we just want to remind everybody that if there is something you see on social media, send it to us so we can confirm that.”
RCMP also continue to search in the Gillam area.
