September is Guide Dog Awareness Month

September marks Guide Dog Awareness Month across Saskatchewan.
Even though guide dogs are a fairly common site in Canada, and legislation is in place to prevent discrimination of the support animals, many people still find and report having difficulties accessing public places with their dog.
Handler Ashley Nemeth believes more education is needed for the public.
Nemeth says this month, there will be an increased social media presence, along with “guide dogs welcome” decals to be posted on businesses to encourage people to be more inclusive.
