Man Gets Penitentiary Time for Two Assaults Near Yorkton

A man has been sentenced to prison time, for committing assaults on two drivers in the Yorkton area.
On the evening of June 14th, a taxi driver picked up 32-year-old Frank Chartrand, and was driving him to Yorkton.
Chartrand, who was intoxicated at the time, then started punching the driver in the back of the head.
The taxi pulled over and Chartrand got out.
He was then given a ride by a Good Samaritan, and he punched that man in the face, chipping a number of his teeth.
In Yorkton Provincial Court yesterday (Wed), Chartrand was sentenced to 2-and-a-half years in prison, but was given credit for the time he’s served in custody since his arrest that night.
