Britain’s High Court Rules Against Their P.M

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been dealt a major setback. The United Kingdom’s Supreme Court has ruled he acted unlawfully when he advised Queen Elizabeth to suspend parliament just weeks before Brexit. In a unanimous decision, the judges ruled Johnson’s government shut Parliament to squelch debate on its Brexit policy. The High Court also ruled immediate steps need to be taken to allow both the upper and lower houses of parliament to meet. Britain is due to leave the European Union October 31st.
