Events or organizations looking for Yorkton City Council to make proclamations designating special days or weeks, are out of luck.
City Council recently made the decision to end the practice, and implemented the new procedure at last (Mon) night’s meeting.
Organizations are still more than welcome to make presentations to Council, but the City is no longer in the business of making proclamations.
The new process saves time during council meetings, where often there may be three or four proclamation requests at the same meeting.
