Manitoba is getting a new Agriculture Minister.
Its part of a cabinet shakeup announced by Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister.
Two new faces are being added to cabinet, along with a reorganization of some ministries.
The two newcomers are Reg Helwer, the MLA for Brandon West, he will be the minister for the new Department of Central Services. It is designed to focus on modernization of government services.
Sarah Guillemard, the MLA for Fort Richmond, will head up the new Department of Conservation and Climate, a single department charged with environmental and climate stewardship.
Pallister also announced that Blaine Pedersen, the MLA for Midland, will be the minister of the new Department of Agriculture and Resource Development, an expanded department focused on agriculture and natural resources.
Former Agriculture Minister Ralph Eichler is being shifted to the new Department of Economic Development and Training, which will be focused on economic development combined with post-secondary education and training.
