Saskatchewan Agriculture says farmers took advantage of generally dry conditions last week to make good harvest progress.
Overall, harvest is pegged at 83% complete, up from 69% last week, but behind the 5 year average of 93% for this time of year.
Saskatchewan Agriculture crop specialist Cory Jacob says there was some crop damage reported “due to lodging from strong winds, frost, reports of geese and wildlife causing damage to swath crops,”
Jacob says harvest in east central Saskatchewan is now 66% complete, up from 51% in last week’s crop report, but still well below our 5 year average of 91% complete.
Jacob says the northeast region is the most advanced with 94% of crops in the bin. The west central region has 93% combined, the northwest region 89%, southwest region 88% and the southeast region 78% completed.
