Yorkton’s Gallagher Centre Hosts Canadian Tire Jumpstart Games for Girls

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and Yorkton Canadian Tire owner David Dungey hosted more than 300 girls from 15 different schools at the Jumpstart Games for Girls held at the Gallagher Center in Yorkton today (Fri).

Dungey and his local store were awarded a 20-thousand dollar community donation which funded the games, from the Canadian Tire corporation, for their outstanding fundraising efforts and generosity during Jumpstart month in June.

The games, which included the participants rotating through 6 different activity stations, providing the girls the opportunity to participate in activities with their interests in mind.

Study shows that girls drop out of sport at a higher rate than boys, and Canadian Tire Jumpstart charities are looking to help remedy this through the games.
