A Cote First Nation man remains in custody for his next court date on numerous charges in connection to a series of police pursuits.

On Saturday night (Nov. 2) Foam Lake RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision in which one driver fled the scene of the accident.

Officers located the abandoned vehicle, confirmed stolen from Canora, and the suspect, who then took off on foot, stole a truck from a residence and headed towards Yorkton on highway 16.

The chase continued into Fort Qu’Appelle, where the suspect went on foot again after hitting a stop sign.

Mounties eventually arrested the suspect after a lengthy standoff.

26-year-old Tyler Severight was remanded for Thursday (Nov. 7) in Fort Qu’Appelle Provincial Court.
