Canadian pork and beef exports to China will resume following a four month suspension.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted the announcement today (Tue) on social media, calling it “good news” for farmers.
The Chinese suspended purchases of pork in late June, citing issues with “forged” veterinary certificates.
There was some speculation that it was also in response to the detention of a senior Huawei executive in Vancouver last December, at the request of the United States.
