Recent reports of lead in drinking water in several Saskatchewan cities, notably Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw, has people wondering how safe Yorkton’s water is. The City says Yorkton has no lead in the water distribution infrastructure. Lead contamination typically comes from contact with service connections containing lead or lead in household plumbing fixtures, and the city has been working to replace those connections when major infrastructure repairs are being done in the area.
